This recipe was a success -- and made me feel a little bit better about eating french fries.
3 large potatoes, cut into ¼" matchsticks
2 tbs canola oil
- Preheat oven to 450°.
- In a large bowl, toss the potatoes with the oil and ½ tsp salt.
- Line a baking sheet with a silpat (or spray with cooking spray).
- Spread potatoes in a single layer.
- Bake until golden and crisp, about 35 minutes.
- Remove the fries with a spatula and season with salt.
